K12 Key Points:
- NIH funded career development program that helps develop scientific careers of junior neurosurgeon-investigators.
- Program is committed to helping increase diversity of the neurosurgeon-research workforce in terms of gender, ethnicity, and subspecialty
- Awarded to 3 applicants yearly with a 2-year commitment. Includes $115,000 in salary support and $50,000 for supplies per year.
- Applications due on October 1, 2024, with award notifications made in January of 2025.

KPAC Key Points:
- NIH-sponsored, two-day event aimed at inspiring and developing the next generation of neurosurgeon-scientists.
- Targets residents entering their 3rd, 4th, or 5th year of training
- Focuses on enhancing the pool of women and those underrepresented in medicine to become successful neurosurgeon-scientists and to promote diversity of research in all neurosurgical subspecialties including trauma, spine, pediatrics, and pain.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation Research Grants
Aim: ALSF raises funds for childhood cancer research and awareness. To date the Foundation has raised over $75 million and funded over 375 research projects. ALSF is pleased to announce that over $800,000 has been specifically allocated for pediatric spinal cord tumor research through the ALSF grants program. Research proposals with the potential to provide insight into the biology, diagnosis, or treatment of spinal cord tumors are strongly encouraged.
