AANS/CNS Pediatric Joint Section Survey Proposal
Distribution of research surveys to health care professionals is an effective method to explore practice patterns, knowledge, etc. In order to distribute a survey to the Pediatric Joint Section membership, the survey must first be evaluated and selected by the Communications Committee. Please email a 1-2 page letter (Word document or PDF) with details of your proposal to PedsNSGsurvey@gmail.com. This letter should include the following information:
I. Your name, your email address, and your institutional information
II. If you are not the Principal Investigator (PI) for the study, please provide this same information for the PI.
III. Overarching purpose and specific aims of the research study
IV. How was your survey developed and if/how it has been tested for validity and reliability?
V. Number of questions in the survey and anticipated length of time it will take to complete
VI. Data management and analysis plan
VII. IRB protocol number or exemption status
VIII. Data confidentiality statement (see example on the website)
IX. Outline where you expect to present and publish the findings, and how these data could be used for future work (the expectation is that data from the survey be presented at one of the next two Section Meetings)
| If you have a link for the survey, please provide it in your letter. This will allow the Communication Committee to test the survey prior to distribution to our membership. If a link is not yet available, please provide complete survey information (including Introduction and Questions). *Please note that any entries from testing will be unreliable data and not suitable for downstream analysis. |
Documents will be distributed to the members of the Survey Subcommittee of the Communications Committee for evaluation. A response to the investigator will be sent by a member of the Communications Committee within 8 weeks. Please contact PedsNSGsurvey@gmail.com for any other questions about this process
