Call for Mentors and Global Collaborators
The AANS/CNS Pediatric Section is currently looking for faculty to provide mentorship for our inaugural AANS/CNS Pediatric Section Resident/Fellow Global Pediatric Neurosurgery Training Fellowship.
Deadline for mentor: February 15th, 2023
Mentor responsibilities for this fellowship include:
- Track record of collaboration with a global neurosurgery training program. Mentor must have visited and participated in surgery at the site at least once. Preference will be given to sites in LMICs.
- Provide mentorship for fellowship proposal and research project.
- Continue mentorship after fellowship for completion of research project.
- Provide a local mentor for the fellow if not able to be present on site for the duration of the fellowship.
Site responsibilities for this fellowship include:
- Ability to obtain a license for the fellow so fellow is able to participate in cases. Be able to provide liability coverage consistent with the norms for that site.
- Able to provide safe housing for fellow and provide for a reasonable level of safety for the fellow.
- Case volume: Minimum of 20 cases/month.
- Able to meet goals and expectations for the rotation. (see attached document)
